Detroit Residential and Commercial Development Round Up

Expectations for Detroit in 2016 are bringing huge changes in both commercial as well as residential developments. A wide range of apartments are on the way. Apart from the apartments, a number of restaurants, other businesses, etc. are growing in such a way that very soon Detroit will be a developed city. 

In this year, one of the billionaire namely Dan Gilbert, owner of the Bedrock real Estate and the litch family are planning for new buildings on Woodward. Apart from this, some of the developments that are expected to take place in this year includes the following,

Former Hudson’s site: Earlier it has been planned by Dan Gilbert for the vacant J.L. Hudson’s site to get revealed. The plan includes 250 residential units and 225,000 square feet of commercial area and also a programmed civic space.

Apartments near Comerica Park: The ilitch family-the owner of the Detroit Tigers and Red Wings have planned to open 300 apartments in a five story building.

Old Tiger Stadium site: This is the place where the baseball stadium was located once upon a time. But now it is going to be the public square for soccer and football games, basket balls and dry camps.

Similarly Detroit PAL is going to open a 9,300 square foot headquarter. The same plan includes another four story residential building which involves some townhouses and 3,000 square feet of retail area.

Cork town development: Antony Soave, a metro Detroit businessman plans to construct a blocks long retail and residential development. This project includes hundreds of residential units and retails. It also involves the conversion of the Checker Cab building located at the 2128 Trumbull into some residential lofts.

Apart from all these developments, there are some other developments that are expected in this year. Thus, the residential and commercial options in and around Detroit are growing.
