Shinola and Bedrock have announced plans for the first Shinola Hotel, located at 1400 Woodward Avenue in downtown Detroit. The location is right across the street from the Hudson’s site, which Bedrock will develop in the next few years.
Dan Gilbert and Bedrock bought the building in late 2013. Built in 1915 as a hardware store, the building was most recently home to Eastern Wig and Hair Co. You can check out some old, very interesting pictures here and some pictures of the really intricate, beautiful facade here.
